It's only when you travel you realise that this country has some amazing landscapes, the journey from Preston to Ediunburgh proves just that.
Edinburgh Fringe has a special atmosphere, it helps when you are guided by a veteran of the festival young David.
From the station to coffee to the Royal Mile.. not unlike Blackpool’s Golden Mile err maybe not and after a real root round some amazing craft stalls including Cat Outram’s amazing etchings, Lyhette Thomspn Park’s abstract pieces using sheet music, tissue paper and ink, and Ceri White’s Ceramics… and I could write for hours… then lunch in a cafe I defy you to find but some of the profits go to Amnesty so all right by me.
On my menu was haggis in fill pastry with lentils and beans and three different salads, just over a tenner what a bargain… then on to the International book festival.. and strolling through the beautiful streets of the city to the bar known as The Guilford Arms and numerous varieties of Scottish real ale.. be rude not to… after heading back to the station I travel on a train that was meant for local journey on a main line.. bloody scary.. like being in a roller coaster car… and then sleep…
Thank you David and thank you fringe.. I will be back.
